Internet packages change again, stabilise E-mail Print

Last week, after the first change in pricing, ISPs continued adjusting their offerings, and now they seem to have settled down. The third ISP that upgraded the offerings was NextWeb, which apart from the speed upgrade, also increased the monthly download limits, which although in some cases still stand below what other ISPs are offering, are still quite decent, and should suit most customers.

Meanwhile, GO once again changed the monthly bandwidth limits. Now, those that originally had 12GB/month download limit, have 100GB, those who had 25 now have 150, and those who had 40, now also have 150, but their download speed is being upgraded to 12Mbps.

It was time for ISPs to grow up and move along with technology. Obviously SmartCity makes a difference. Finally consumers are getting some serious value for money finally with bandwidth going up, although the upload limit still needs to be half the download speed instead of 512k....

Why didnt Melita upgrade the 2mbit connection as well? If they are expect us to shell out an extra €20 / month to get a 10mbit they can forget it.

Well, its movinf towards decent speeds but still way way back. In Sweden now you´ll get a 100Mbps both directions for 320SEK, that is €35, for the the price of €90 you will get a 1Gbps connection!!!

Malta will always remain a third world country.

for some users its more beneficial to lower the prices than increasing bandwidth. Just look at the amount of people who applied for the Lm1 a month internet connection..
